The Melar Operations office is designed to meet the demands of the company's core operations, which include being a round-the-clock support office. The entrance, two conference rooms, and kitchen are located on one side of the open-concept working area, which is the main space in the office. These spaces can also be used as break-out areas or alternative working spaces.
The acoustics and lighting of the office were carefully considered when designing it to be a 24-hour workspace. In order to reduce noise interruption, we were able to choose the best sound-absorbing materials through collaboration with a sound engineer, including the acoustically treated soffits and partitions, the desk partitions, and the floor carpet. To accomplish the most seamless transition of light between day and night, the lighting was created with a certain amount of automation.
Another key component of the office's design was its modularity, which makes it a versatile area that can be quickly reconfigured to meet the needs of the workplace. The open-plan workspace was created so that neither fixed services nor furniture had to be placed. Instead, services were provided via free-standing, plug-and-play electrical poles with a one-meter displacement range, each of which supplied a group of desks that could be easily moved when needed.
With a carefully chosen color scheme of greys, greens, blues, and birch plywood, the office design has a contemporary, fresh feel. The final product was a peaceful and friendly workstation.
