The staircase is made up of two opposing parts: the upper part, which is perforated, minimal, suspended, and fixed, and the lower part, which is solid, bold, and only fits into a 1.5 m x 1.5 m opening.

By tucking the movable lower part under the suspended part, the user has the option to reduce the total footprint of the staircase on the lower floor.
